Vacation Question

Hello.  I had a question about vacation.  My understanding is that free members cannot go on vacation when it is their turn to move in any of their games.  As a free member, this has been an issue for me several times because I have wanted to go on vacation but had to move in every game and quickly turn on vacation before any of my opponents moved.  However, I am playing a game now where my opponent is a free member and he went on vacation despite it being his turn to move in our game.  I checked his homepage and it is his turn to move in several of his games, but they are all on vacation.  Does anyone know if the rule has changed recently?  Thanks

 ISTR basic level members can activate vacation time when they have <10 games in which it is their turn to move. I could be wrong...

Given my previous experience I don't think that's right.  I almost never play more than a handful of games at a time and I've seen this issue.  Do you know who would know for sure?  Emailing support is a pain...

Are you sure it wasn't your move at the moment he went on vacation?

NewArdweaden:  I'm certain.  I moved when he wasn't on vacation (this move is the last move that has been made), then I checked on the game a little later and he was on vacation.  Unless he went on vacation at the exact moment I moved without realizing it, it was his move.  I quickly checked his page and several other games had him to move as well, even though he had only been on vacation for perhaps half an hour.  This would have meant that all of those other people would have to have moved right after he went on vacation as well

i can't say i know of specific people off the top of my head, but if you watch out for members who have loads of games on the go, they're more likely to know better than me...

It is possible the app doesn't check for move status when going on vacation. I know in the past it didn't or it didn't for premium accounts at least. I think that was (is?) a bug though.
