Vanishing games.

Hi,

I had 16 games in progress (online chess) and suddenly 6 games just disappeared. I got 3 wons (by time out).

If I won these three games, why my rating wasn't updated? I have checked ratings of players who lost by time out and their ratings didn't change either.

Does it mean that any game in process can be quit by player without any consequences?

If my 6 games disappeard why only 3 of them appeared as won by time out and other 3 were not noticed by by chess.com?

Can you explain? Thanks!

In this game http://www.chess.com/echess/game.html?id=40359811 only one move had been made. Games with three moves or less do not count towards ratings (this was introduced to stop people from cheating-by creating a dummy account, playing against their real account, and resigning on move one). Same goes for the other two games you won by time out.

However, I don't know where the other three games went.

You have 11 current games, 3 finished.

If no moves have been made in a game, or only white has made its first move, the game can still be aborted (cancelled). If a player aborts the game, it won't show in the games current list or history as it was a non game.
