Variance between Fast and Slow Time Controls

Who else has a large variance between fast and slow time controls? My rating variance from bullet to daily is 788 points. And I've played a fair amount of both, as well as everything in between. I my be just one of those "thorough but not fast thinkers" that benefits more from extra time than the next guy. But I wonder who else shows this, or possibly even the opposite?
I've also noticed that many players play slower time controls as if they were playing blitz and basically do not benefit from the extra time at all.
