variation of the trompovsky

What do you call the variation that goes 1. d4 nf6 2 Bg5 d5 3. c3 followed by e3 and Bd3 for white? My opponent for my next league match plays it religiously and I was wondering what the best setup was to get a sharp tactical game.

The veresov is nc3. My opponent always plays c3 and then later nd2

If the bishop takes on g5 right away and damages your pawn structure the line is the Trompovsky.

If they play the bishop to g5 and do an annoying pin the line can tranpose into the Torre Attack

Slow and dubious, try Bf4 and make it a London. Tromp players avoid c3.
