Would video lessons help u get better a lot

bobbyDK

of course. it all depends on the instructor but it is even better than books if the instructor is good.

there are lot of good instructors on this site. start with beginner videos and work youself up instead of making the error that some do to watch a video that would help a 2200 to become 2201.

GM Roman has a lot of good beginner videos.

My vote is for IM Danny Rensch's "live Session" videos.  Couple dozen of them and they provide "edutainment" at its' finest.  Both GM Kaidanov and FM Lilov have interesting takes on beginner openings.  Anything by GM Finegold is worth watching-he excels at the "every move explained" approach.

A notable exception to the "stay away from multiple part video presentations, they're too advanced for you rule" would be IM Keaton Keiwra's 10 part series on "The Fighting Dragon".  A must watch if you play the Dragon or face it regularly.   Of course "getting better a lot" is open to interpretation, but all of the above will help immerse you in chess culture which is pretty much what you have to do to get really good.  Or so I've been told, I'm just an old patzer myself.
