Visiting St. Louis

I'm visiting St. Louis this weekend and I hear it's a big chess town. I was wondering if there were any cool chess spots to check out. Maybe a cool store or somewhere I can pick up a game or watch some people play.

Those are right across the street from each other. Also the Chess Pocket Park in Forest Park about a half mile from the chess campus.

Can I go in and watch people play/pick up a game at the chess club or is it more of a private deal?

Cool, I'll check it out. Thanks!

Public. They have tables out front where people are always playing casual games.

however, as it is middle of winter, probably wont be people playing outside......but come on in, and im sure the staff would be happy to show you around and there are people playing pickup games on the first floor. Maybe ill see you there....

Better go to Russia, hotter women and better chess.

Look at this page, they seem to host weekly tournaments you may be interested in.

i would not waste time visiting the chess pocket park.....except of course to visit Forest Park in general. I have yet to see anyone there using them, and again, as its the middle of winter, odds are still not good.
