He simply hates you. For any reason.

Ivanchuck has had an amazingly long career at the top level of chess. He and Kasparov reached their rating plateau at about the same time, but Ivanchuk's kept going for another 10 years after Kasparov retired!

In that sense, is  he arguably a greater contributor to chess than Garry?

There are only three in real contention, Fischer, Kasparaov and Magnus.  I still go with Fischer, who beat the entire Soviet chess machine practically alone during the Cold War.  But, any of the three are valid.

Probably the greatest player of all time is Garry Kasparov.

Richard Reti, for 3 reasons:  

1) At his peak, he beat Alekhine, Capablanca and Lasker in the same tournament;

2) He composed some of the most beautiful studies ever seen. 

3) He wrote "Masters of the Chess Board", one of the best chess books ever written.

Bobby Fischer wins hands down.  He was head and shoulder above all other greats.
