The one thing I wonder about is says "can play" - rated 694, I am not convinced. Even on permanent mushrooms I would hope for at least a rating of...er...750
I knew some FIDE rated dudes who would get totally toasted during tournaments (between rounds) and they didn't seem to suffer in their play.

It depends on how much you take, and what mushrooms you take. It's nothing like being drunk, unless perhaps you've taken a rather light dose. And if he was on mushrooms I doubt he would be on here. It's really hard to even look at a computer screen; bright lights can hurt your eyes, and computer screens have a habit of shifting continually.
You do experience a prolonged state of extreme mellowness after the peak wears off, and I've tried playing chess online at the end of a trip (about 6-8 hours after taking the dose) and it wasn't very productive :P With my mind blown wide open, I figured "hey! Let's play CREATIVELY!"
Well, it didn't work for me, haha. Maybe GMs would be great on shrooms, though I wonder who would be the most fun to trip with. Ivanchuk is too unpredictable, for one, and Anand would be too dry, as would Carlsen, I think.
I know first hand just what mushrooms can do to some people.

On second thought, Chucky might be awesome to trip with. He's supposed to be very smart, and he's a huge literature fan. I'm sure you could have some epically long and deep conversations with him :)
