I have heard It and it was not my daily chess games
Warning: Ghost Clunk sound from Beyond this World

Oh.
But it could just as easily be my long since passed grandfather trying to communicate with me, perhaps telling me to "make the move" on giving up my job and living off of my wife's income.
That could be, too. There's really no reason to go with one explanation over the other. Frankly, I can't explain how the universe came to be, so, I'm going with the great love I have for my grandfather to help me choose between these two equally possible possibilities.

I heard an extra sound playing Chess on daily chess, an extra "clunk' sound of a piece being moved. I couldn't tell which piece, because no piece on my board had been moved. My wife suggested it was from the other tab where I was playing another game on Chess.com (against another player) and Geodexic suggested it was a program glitch (he made that suggestion without any evidence or any proof, he brought zero lines of code to back up his point) and I suspect, due to my love of my grandfather who passed away a few decades ago, that perhaps it was a message from beyond the grave from him that I should quit my job - "make the move and quit your job" and live off my wife's income. Obviously my grandfather is the least biased out of all of us, so I'm going with him.

You ask to any software programmer about the anomaly in any long period looping programs.
For example you make a simple looping program to detect a push in keyboard button and writing down the keyboard letter on the screen. Give a delay for every reading of the button. Perhaps after hundreds of constant letter writing you will find one or more different letter on the screen.

There are two things to consider here AFAICS
First, if it was the sound of baize on wood then it was likely to be an antique chess piece as most of the newer pieces use felt.
Second, I also have had an ice cream today, (sitting out for the first time this year!! May tomorrow!!) and it didn't melt. It wasn't very warm, being as someone said recently the 97th of January not the end of April. So I agree with the global warming in reverse if that is what you were getting at. Yes, it is the endgame for us all my friend.

I was alone one time and was really engrossed on my chess match online. The game was tight and suspenseful. Any wrong move on either one would mean defeat. I have 12 minutes against his 20. My move. I concentrated hard, the eeriness was deafening as if everything stood still. Then suddenly I heard this strange sound, goosebumps all over. I put my attention back to the game...but then the smell whiffing through was hard to ignore....I immediately got up and a big swooshing sound...ahhhh now I know, it must be dem dang beans!!!!

I FIGURED IT OUT! I FIGURED IT OUT!
I sometimes open multiple window tabs.
If you open a tab, then open a second tab on the same game, same board, then make your move, the first tab will, LATER, make your same move, clunk sound and all.
You go to look, same board. The trick is that your move had to be made, and it was made with a delay and clunk sound.
I knew the idea of a parallel universe would someday come to be helpful.
There we go, parallel universe boards.
I'm not one to believe in the super-natural, but today, here on Chess.com, I was NOT, i repeat NOT making another move when I clearly heard the thunk of a chess piece being placed down. You know that sound of the felt hitting the wood? Well, I heard it. I wasn't imagining things, I heard the sound of a chess piece being placed down on the board. Eyes wide open, I looked carefully to see if a piece had been moved. NO CHESS PIECE HAD BEEN MOVED.
And then
it happened again.
I'm telling you, it's true. Whether this is a ghost game going on, or perhaps premonitions of the future, I have been experiencing unworldly, perhaps even unholy sounds from beyond.
Perhaps this is evidence that we are entering into the end times.
For instance, weather changes as a sign. My ice-cream doesn't melt outside like it used to.
And when I was a child, it used to get really hot inside during the summer. It's been years since I had to turn on a fan, I'm cool inside even during the MIDDLE OF THE SUMMER.
Now, neigh-sayers, such as my wife, might try to explain it away by feeble attempts at "a scientific explanation".
I know what I heard, and my wife saying, "You have two browsers open." or "Perhaps it's just a programming glitch." All just more proof that there, in fact, is no explanation.
Has anyone else heard a gratuitous felt sounding clunk of a ghost / invisible chess piece being played when YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE HEARD ONE???
Feel free to share, this is a safe place, I believe you.
