This sounds like a question that someone posting ads would ask....
But anyways, the only way I know to get rid of the ads is to get a membership. I think adblocker might work too but I had problems a while back with adblocker interfering with other things and it proved to be a nuisance wearing a different face. There is probably better software out there for this that is just a google search away.
Agree that "adblocker" is possibly a CON. Chess.com and other websites should get together and bring a lawsuit against Google. But that would be like bringing a law suite against the Supreme Court.
I mean it is most likely paid advertising so a lawsuit would be chess.com shooting itself in the foot.
Plus, it is another tool to make memberships more appealing.
I would try installing uBlock Origin. I'd trust it over Adblock Plus.
Be careful. There is also a uBlock, but it's completely different than uBlock Origin, and not as good, as far as I know.
Just visited Best Buy and a Geek Squad guy checked out my Samsung Chromebook (purchased it at Best Buy). He uploaded uBlock Origin and gave me a brief tutorial all for no charge. Soooo glad that you informed us about uBlock Origin which is also what the Geek Squad recommends.
