was there a rating adjustment recently?

In the past few months I was mostly in mid 2200 or close to 2300, but recently I dropped to low 2200, and it is not happening only one or two days, it is couple of weeks that I’m in this state. Also I’ve noticed that, currently even in low 2200 (e.g. right now around 2225), stats says that I’m better than 99.6% of players, while a few months ago, the same rating would mean to be better than 99.5% of players.

Was there a rating adjustment recently, at least for higher bracket users? This may explain why my average rating dropped (normally my rating should only increase, since I don’t know much, and every game I learn something new, thus rating drop is strange).

First off, are you discussing a blitz rating?

I don't think a 50 point drop is big enough to warrant speculation about a change in the ratings system.

Yes, I’m talking about blitz. The 50 points is about the average rating, of course I drop below 100 or go up 100 in a few days, but when it tends to be around a specific number in average, it says something.

Also, I didn’t talk only about my own rating, I’ve also noticed the change in percentile.

The change from 99.5% to 99.6% probably reflects the site's continued growth.

According to the leaderboard, there were 12,209,147 active in blitz in the last 90 days.  So the same actual rating could gain or drop a tenth of a percentage point easily if the number of active players changes.

Rating inflation and value changes could be the case, although a small drop like that could just be you
