weak color complex

That's the first lesson, but after reading and doing it, I still don't understand what a weak color complex is.

A basic example of a weak color complex.  The dark squares around the black king are weak.  Black does not have his dark square bishop to help guard the dark squares, while white still has his dark dquare bishop.
the squares g5-h6-g7 are considered weak.

Think of it as a group of light, or dark squares that your opponent can occupy, take advantage of, and you dont have the material to defend them.

Correct!  

Its a weakness in the position.

White has a weak square complex around his king.  
h1-h3-g2-g4-f3 are weak light squares.  
White does not have his light square bishop to guard the light color squares around his king, while black still has his light square bishop.
