He just defeated Michael Adams with a great game to take the lead in the London Classic and reach 2800.

He is the 12th player in history to cross the 2800 barrier and the first Asian. Those Filipinos can play some chess!

GM Wesley So is just getting better and better . Playing great chess. What a year he's having. 2800 is an amazing standard to reach.

So we could be watching a world champion developing. Damn he's strong. Very sound, pressurizing play and he's great in strange positions too.

Agree - really strong.  Seems to have a great attitude about the game as well.

He just won clear first in the London Classic. Caruana, Nakamura, Kramnik, Anand, etc., left trailing behind.
Who can beat this guy?

Carlsen?

He didn't play many games against Carlsen yet. This would definitely make an interesting match.

Ideally I would also like to see more matches between Carlsen and Caruana, Kramnik, Anand, Nakamura and Aronian - in that order probably.

Fischer was outstanding considering he played naturally without computer aids.

I think Wesley is now number 2 in the world after running away with the Tata Steel tournament! Magnus finished somewhere back in the pack...

So is still improving!

Carlsen was clear second. Just saying...
