What chessplayer, living or dead, would you like to have as your chess teacher?

Hehe, this photo is good.

There's something about Kasparov's tan, wifebeater, the 1990s printer and the third-world-hotel-room furniture and TV that's just really bad for the Feng Shui. No wonder Carlsen moved on quickly.

Well, Switzerland is in fact 0th world.

I'm pretty sure I don't want any dead chess player as a teacher.

Batgirl,

Surprised that you, of all people here, would write this as you have penned many fine articles here on the players who are no longer with us.

I'm sure that you have learned much from your researches. In effect the dead have taught you. :)

Best wishes,

I specialize in the departed, but I prefer they remain as they are.

I don't know if you meant to be funny, that was hilarious!Maybe next time refer them as "dearly departed".

No Return of the Zombie Chess Intructors for me.

Well, at least one person isn't overly picky.

@LuftWaffles

The printer in the Kasparov-Carlsen photo is a HP 1020...a really good, compact laser printer, and a favorite of Tournament Directors in the US!

Thank you for your opinion.

I look forward to your next well-researched pen portrait

of a departed chessplayer.

Judit Polgar when she was young and quite good looking. But later she put on weight and became unappealing.

Not as un-appealing as you.

How about the Backyard Professor?  Naw...bad choice!Laughing

I'd go with Karpov (in his prime) or FM Alisa Melekhina-- she's smokin hot!

rubbeldiekatzunso

Peter Svidler, I found his commentary to be clear and precise and I like his no nonsense attitude.

Heh. Of course I brought up physical attributes. Topic is, who you hypothetically want as a chess teacher. Who you would prefer, attractive woman... or a man? For me its not a difficult question to answer.
