In daily games?

Mainly in rapid...and yeah daily game too.... I started my first daily game...I got an opponent who was rated 400 in daily...I thought it would be a cake walk....but lol I lost and I looked up his profile....he was an 1800 rated guy in blitz and rapid. It was unfair.

A stand up comedian , Samay Raina , who didn't even know the C of chess until before 6 months is now rated 1650+ . Meanwhile people like me are slogging at 1400 for more than that amount of time.

He was here in avril 2017 and he started to play seriously in dec 2018 so that is 2 years of experience...and he was still only 1200 in june of this year....now 1400 at blitz.

At rapid he was still 1000 the 7 of september this year..now 1600....a jump of +600 in 2 weeks....

Yeah thats what I am amazed by...a jump of 600 in 2 weeks

dont yo know about the update of chess.com

htey made rapid rating as blitz rating if u played in last 90 days.

that brings up a new problem which is- why is he only 1300 in blitz and 1600 in rapid?

Ya I know that...but I just want an elaboration on how it affected the ratings. My brain has failed to understand that properly.

But i heard that he has an IM has a coach and i doubt he or anyone could get to 1650 in 6 months,it usually take that to get to 1400 for sure! even with a coach and 2-3 hours a day of work and play.

Btw he played 5 000 games in 6 months? i didn't play that much in 5 years?

You know too much about chess scene. I am impressed that you know about Samayraina too.And probably more than the Indian who posted this forum. Yes he gets coached by an IM, He has spent a lot of time on chess in this lockdown. And he has played some chess before this lockdown too, notice how his account is created on 2016. He probably started his 6 month journey as a 1100. And He is a stand-up comedian not a clown so, he can achieve this. Profession doesn't matter.

he is just 1361 rated....

No he is 1600

It can be the 10 min blitz that was transferred in the rapid that made it jump?

I disagree, he completely deserves the rating currently he has. No tricks, he is a very good player.

Why the hell worry about that person's rating anyway??

Hmm, you've been diagnosed with a terminal illness? You lost your job and will soon lose your house as you cannot afford the mortgage payments?

What do ratings matter? More to the point, what do others' ratings matter? That is nothing to be depressed, or stressed, about. happy.png
