Did you knew the first program vs human game was played by Alan Turing?

Gary Kasparov is doing a lecture at Manchester next week about a game played by Alan Turing, using a chess playing algorithm, even before the first computer was build.

Turing's algorithm has been implemented as a Chessbase engine, here's the download link:

http://www.chessbase.com/download/engines/setup%20turing.exe

Note: this requires Fritz/ChessBase, this is no UCI/Winboard engine!
