Really? Who even cares about stuff like this?

I usually resign before the game hits THAT point. That saves me from hearing my opponent tell me gg before the game is ofically over.

I'll lay odds your next topic will be about people not accepting your rematches.

I've said gg before a game is over alot. It's not disrespectful, it's showing confidence that the games over, and that u expect ur opponent to resign.

Anyway why get sensitive about it? if anything it should fuel u to prove them wrong, then laugh about it in their face lol.

Better than gg is to say nothing at all grin.png believe me

Maybe. Sometimes i dont say anything, sometimes i say gg at the end, sometimes i say it before the games over. Doesn't really matter. it's two letters combined to make 1 word, and it's not disrespectful.

Not sure why anyone would even bother making a post about it, seems petty to the extreme degree

Right. Not sure about this post also.. it's crazy.. but it is what it is..  when next time me vs you game I will tell you gg.... Syke

I’ve considered doing this a few times but I figured if I’d never say it in real life I won’t say it online either.

Sometimes I say GG if I know I’m beat but I’ll play on in case there’s a blunder or a chance I can gain counterplay.

Saying gg to your opponent before the game is over, when you expect him to resign, is Certainly Disrespectful - RedGirlZ, who is to say he is going to resign anyway? You wouldn't say it in an OTB game, because if you did, your opponent could report you to the arbitre for ruining his concentration, and you could lose the point.'

I didn't manipulate the topic. Saying gg before any game is over, except a friendly, is absolutely disrespectful.

It could encouragement in a way tho

There's a healthy way to look at an early "gg" comment, I'd say. In your head, or even in the chat, you could issue your opponent a reply along the lines of: "Yes, good game, but FOR WHOM?" To me, it's quite an effective way to mentally turn the tables.

Next time I play RedGirlZ, i'm going to say gg on moves 4, 6, 8, 10, 12  and 14 - but not on move 16 - because the game will be over by then. happy.png

true lolz

I'm inclined to agree with you.

If my game is lost, I can sometimes write down "gg" or "haha", but only for laughing at me myself.

Unless they are about to resign, I would consider them idiots who wouldn't dare to do that OTB.

Unless you are a real thug, of course... :-)
