Hawking claimed, “people who boast about their IQs are losers”. In our book about understanding personalities and intelligence, my daughter, Toni Rothpletz, and I wrote about the importance of IQ and EQ (emotional quotient or measure of emotional intelligence). how is every iq above 100? Statistically, this is impossible.

Brain cells few!

1. This is not a list of everyone.

2. Not everyone on the list has a IQ above 100.

I am a bit puzzled here. Many of the people listed here died before IQ tests were invented. Has someone perfected a way to talked to the dead? Can they also tell us about the nature of the afterlife? Was there nothing more important to be learned from these dead geniuses than giving them IQ tests?

Or perhaps time travel has been invented and is being kept secret. Were the subjects involved summoned to the present (their future) to take the IQ tests or was the tester able to travel into the past to administer the tests? In either case, is it possible that exposure to the "future" helped shape these past geniuses' ideas? There some sort of conundrum here: the past geniuses may never have produced the work that made them famous enough for the tester to choose them as subjects unless the tester had influenced them, but how would the tester have known to contact these individuals unless he had already contacted them? I have seen Dr. Who get caught up in this sort of dilemma and I'm sure he would appreciate knowing how things were done.

Just look at the real world all around you. There are certainly many successful people in many fields of endeavor who display no signs of high IQ. You would think someone would need a high IQ to reach the upper levels of government--assessing voters' desires, coming up with winning policies, persuading other politicians to follow their lead--but I'll warrant that everyone here can point out people at the highest levels of their country's ruling class that are clearly well shy of genius IQ.

nah it's cause intelligence comes in many forms that doesn't apply to the IQ Test, such as creativity as an example.

I resume my pen, in reply to the curious epistle, you have been pleased to favour me with; and can assure you, that, notwithstanding, I am naturally of a grave and phlegmatic disposition, it has been the source of abundant merriment to me. The spirit that breathes throughout is so rancorous, illiberal and imperious: The argumentative part of it so puerile and fallacious: The misrepresentations of facts so palpable and flagrant: The criticisms so illiterate, trifling and absurd: The conceits so low, steril and splenetic, that I will venture to pronounce it one of the most ludicrous performances, which has been exhibited to public view, during all the present controversy.
