What exactly is chess.com's problem with discussing cheaters ?
The guidelines for that Club state this :
https://support.chess.com/customer/portal/emails/newThis club is NOT a place to learn 'how to cheat' or to name and shame people you feel are/may be cheating. It is a place to discuss various aspects of cheating, computer use, etc. Before joining this club, you must have been a member on Chess.com for at least 30 days, have played some games, and have participated in some discussions in general forums or clubs. People who used vulgarities in their interactions on chess.com will not be allowed to join.
Well...it clearly isn't...is it ![]()
@ Lenudan
I think you have missed the point...never mind ![]()
I am not referring to anyone deleting posts about people moaning about their losses, I am stating that the whole subject seems to be taboo....not just "moans about losses" ![]()
Yes...I think you are right...I imagine my comments in the place where you are supposed to be permitted to discuss " various aspects of cheating, computer use," got far far too close to what is actually endemic here now...…..so they were deleted.
As you say......who really cares...not worth wasting any more time on it ![]()
I am joking, in fact I saw 99% of cheating accusations are wrong. And also accusers name and shame innocent people .Can u imagine if someone does to you like that?
Again.....sorry but you are both missing the point...….I made my comments in exactly the place you are supposed to be able to discuss aspects of cheating....as it says above in the group rules. Yet within 10 minutes they and others comments which agreed with me...…. were deleted.
They contained no names and no personal accusations...at all !
I have no problem at all with personal accusations being disallowed...there is a proper way to deal with that...and it isn't posting them in the general forums....but if you cant discuss one aspect of cheating,in the very place you are supposed to be allowed to....there is something strange going on.
I am not even going to go into any detail here....its quite obvious what will happen...isn't it ?
It might now...so lets forget it shall we...its going nowhere obviously ![]()
The man who called you a child saw your avatar as Chinese anime and not the talented & creative British actress Gabrielle Drake.![]()
If that's your experience in the cheating forum, it doesn't surprise me. NO part of the site is being run the way it was designed yrs ago. "Open Discussion" WAS originally designed for politics & religion. Its just a bunch of stupid kids who copy & paste all day.
Those 2 groups---cheating & OD--we're run by SITE management & ONLY site management. They left the town and turned out the lights.
lol, I have seen threads deleted here before....but never that fast ! and there was not one name mentioned...no accusations...no swearing..no rudeness...just "that particular aspect of cheating" was discussed...... perfectly reasonably.
Subjecto non grata obviously ![]()
HiThereImNewToo
Chess.com has more cheaters than all the other chess sites combined, we have to be hush hush about it so they don't lose even more face.
Well...it makes you wonder...doesn't it ![]()
JustJackinIt
You are not supposed to openly accuse specific players of cheating publicly. You can generally discuss your situation, but you can't publicly ostracize a user. Contact support privately about specific users, discuss the general cheating issue publicly. Get it?
Errrr...yes...I think I have already said that myself about twice already ![]()
Get it ?
Honestly don't people actually read all of ones posts on here and digest them properly...seems not ![]()
@HiThereImNewToo
In my experience of private companies...what counts is $$$$$$$...and thats about all....hope you are right...but I doubt it ![]()
@HThereImNewToo
I don't think mister JustJackitin has actually read any posts apart from the one before his....otherwise he wouldn't make such a silly comment....must I say it again ?....seems so ![]()
This isn't about people accusing others of cheating in these.... or other forums...I have no truck with that...it is about being able to discuss one aspect of cheating...in the cheating forum ( and obviously here !)
And its clear you can't ! in cases like this its usually because its "TOO HOT TO HANDLE"
So be it ... ![]()

I saw that chess.com it seems does not like cheating discussed in these forums...…....so I joined the group where it was supposed to be ok ?! the Cheating group.
I posted a thread about people who suddenly seem to put together a string of really really good moves ( after perhaps average or lesser ones)…. and within about 10 minutes the thread had been deleted...and another one had been started by a man who said it was stupid...accused me of blocking him....and asserted I was a child ??????
So discussing cheating is just not on then
....anywhere it seems !
