What exactly is chess.com's problem with discussing cheaters ?

That's confused me a little - so your most recent thread asking about a particular type of cheating was deleted, another thread was created calling you names, and where does this thread that you created a few months ago come into things? I had a quick scan of the 7 most recent pages of threads in that club going back to May last year, and didn't see anything you'd authored (admittedly, I got a little distracted by some of the topics around pages 6 and 7).

I'm an admin of that club, although I'm only there to help process applications, but I have sent you an invite to it again, if only so you can find some links to those posts to help clear this up: I can't find the thread insulting you (maybe it was deleted too?)  Thanks!

That has nothing whatsoever to do with cheating...it appears to have something to do with having lost a certain number of games on time.

As far as the Cheating Forum goes …..that is a totally separate matter... yes I created a thread there...it was deleted after about 10 minutes... another member created a separate thread, calling me stupid, a child, and so on.

The thread I created there named no one, contained no swearing...no accusations..and the points I made were in fact supported by  I think at least 2 other members...then suddenly it was deleted ?!

Its seems quite clear from what you have said...that it has all been deleted......what a surprise lol.....maybe I need to increase my medication

I can only suggest that you ask all members there if they can recall either thread...I would hope that those who responded to my original thread would agree that it existed...once

You're automatically labeled a cheater by your opponent.

I've seen so many players being called a cheater while the accused are only rated like 1800+ or something with over 20.000 games played. Did these accusers ever stop to think that they're opponent is better because those 20.000 games gave him/her some experience?

And why would you only be rated 1800, 1900, 2000 even after 20.000 games if you was cheating? Isn't the whole purpose of cheating achieving a high rating like 2500 or so because that looks so cool? And do you think getting there would take 20.000 games if one used an engine like stockfish or whatever?

Sure, i guess there are cheaters on chess.com. But so far, after the 2000+ games i played myself, bullet, blitz, rapid and daily, i felt i have been cheated maybe between 5 to 10 times. And those accounts have all been closed and my rating got adjusted by chess.com.

So most of the times i think the accusers are nothing other then sore losers.

sounds to me like a rogue moderator did this to you. 

maybe someone you fell out with previously or something? there are 3000 members of that group so who knows?

chess.com does a great job with moderator recruitment, but there's no accounting for people sometimes.

Thankyou lol......I was just thinking about posting again about another thing I have just discovered.The man who started another thread in that group calling me all sorts of names..has only been a member of chess.com for 3 months !!...and he still is in that group

The groups rules clearly state you have to be a member here for 6 months.

All very very strange...I think I need to do a screenshot...as all my previous stuff has conveniently been deleted it seems

Thanks for the PM - that person isn't an Admin of the group but can be a little abrasive at times: perhaps one of the Admins gave him a caution for it.

Anyways, the overall premise is still true - there IS a place where you can discuss cheating at https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum and it generally works fine. Obviously it's not perfect, but if things were, we wouldn't have cheating in the first place.

Is the time requirement 6 months? I thought it was 3, so that could be my mistake, as I've approved people in that 3-6 month range. I'll double check, but it's a measure meant to deter return cheaters from joining the group with their latest account, and from that point of view, 3 months seems like it would be just as effective as a 6 month requirement.

I haven't read all this thread, but as the Cheating Forum admin, I thought I'd chime in briefly.

I did not delete any threads in the Cheating Forum yesterday.  I didn't even see the thread.  However, I did notice another thread in another club disappearing shortly after it was posted, and I've heard that other newly-posted threads in club forums were disappearing.  I believe there may be a bug that is causing this.
