What happens if there's an earthquake during a tournament?

You know he's great because he has replay value... plus some lines you can start to google and it will complete the lyric, obviously it sticks in everyone's head. Good stuff.

Lately I've had
"two pills I pop till my pupils swell up like two pennies
I'm Clint Eastwood in his mid 20s"

(and the next few lines) In my head.

I'm just saying because some people will just google the lyrics and then pretend they know. I guess you can't be sure I didn't do that too, but some people know I post Eminem lyrics here now and then

It's awesome because he has so much old stuff you can keep finding.

I mean, at least that's how it is for me. There are a log of old songs I didn't know about.

I don't know, when I listen to stuff it's usually just youtube playlists, so it's easy for me to miss stuff.

But sure, recent stuff like the ringer and homicide are great.

The anger is high energy, and if you like that, be sure to listen to some of his old dis tracks. Like The Sauce and Go To Sleep

If there was a earthquake during a tournament, all the chess pieces would fall over, the games would reset, some clocks would break.

We had one this morning!

I was dreaming that I was  winning a big tournament. But the earthquake woke me up....

So, I lost it by resignation!

Jeez, what an idiot.  And this is the guy whose shoes we're supposed to be following in...

What's wrong with knowledge?

Nothing.  But having it and just yakking about it are two different things.

Not sure I understand this stance?

Please increase my knowledge and explain the distinction and how "yakking about it" does not promote "It"?

What happens if there's a World War during a chess tournament?

Well... let's see:

The 19th Deutscher Schachbund (German Chess League) Congress in Mannheim, Germany began on July 20, 1914. The First World War began about a week and a half later, when Alekhine was leading the Master's section with 9 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. With the outbreak of war, the tournament was called off and the eleven Russian players (Alekhine, Bogoljubov, Bogatyrchuk, Flamberg, Koppelman, Maljutin, Rabinovich, Romanovsky, Saburov, Selezniev and Weinstein) were interned in a POW camp in Rastatt, Germany. Six of them were eventually allowed to go home, four in September, one the following year and one the year after.

So there you have it. If a war breaks out during a chess tournament, you just toss them into a POW camp.

In other games, it has even happened that a nuclear bomb was dropped during the equivalent of a world championship/candidates match.

Interesting.

@Batgirl might think so, as well.

AlCzervik

what a crazy topic!

does anyone actually wonder what would have happened to a chess tournament a few days ago in puerto rico?

will the next topic be about chess tournaments during tsunamis? and, how to save your king?

IIRC the 1939 chess olympiad resumed after WWII began albeit the oposing sides didn't play, for example, Poland vs Germany. Germany won the Olympiad and Najdorf got gold.
