There are more arrogant ***holes on this site than any other forum I've frequented.

There are screwballs everywhere on the internet, but honestly this place is mid range at worst.  But then again, I have gone through the Wizards of the Coast Forums during the edition wars, and played Original Everquest, so compared to that pretty much anything else is amateur hour when it comes to trolls.

these are a whole new breed of trolls from what you're used to though

dealing fire/acid dmg doesnt work as well here

If only it was as simple as a Burning Hands spell.  Sigh.

Oh not at all :) I didn't like chess much but now that I realised how bad I am at it and how much I can improve I love it now :) its good to see that there are many players from UAE and the highest-ranked player on chess.com lives in the UAE Wink

It's not that you mention it, it's how you mention it.

Which leads me to one of my learnings:  There is no shortage or rationalization, obfuscation, mis-characterization and occasionally even indignation that can be drawn upon by someone who wants to steer an argument to favourable territory.

I think this is the perfect Thanksgiving Day thread for chess.com. I suggest it gets bumped anually on said day.

wishiwonthatone

nice idea. I smell food cooking already.

I've learned that a good conversation is a strategically built argument and the discussion of it's merits or bad points, leading to the formulation of a counter argument and maybe a change of view.

Chess anyone?

Actually, I'm sorry for my comment, it was rude. I try not to be like that but sometimes I get the worst of myself. Apology.

Humility.

The reason my rating is so low is that I forfeited a bunch of games in a tournament. I had to be in the hospital for quite a while.
