What historical chess games should I study?

Many chess teachers recommend studying past games as a way to improve. I thought it would be good to try to learn one game a fortnight but which games? What I am most interested in is finding previously unstudied games that start with openings I use and which are free of obvious errors on both sides. How do I find good previously unstudied games? What should I be looking for? Once I find them how do I analyse them best so that I can get the most out of them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

When I say 'historical' that can mean recent past games.
