Ok thanks
What is a good Blitz rating

as a 1700 elsewhere, I hate my 1400ish rating HERE, but if you can get THAT good a blitz rating, you're a decent club player. it used to drive me nuts at one site that used to do the same "hobble blitz players' ratings" thing unless you played 15/0 or longer, yet I would STILL keep playing at my 10m pace with a higher rating ESSENTIALLY handing my opponents 5 extra minutes i'm not using.
I still hate low blitz ratings. it's one of the reasons I don't PLAY here much, but access to my database and others' and the ability to simply copy and paste games matter too

It varies from player to player. But I'd say, in general:
800 is "good" for beginners / novices (Class D)
1200 is "good" for strong novices / low intermediates (Class C)
1600 is "good" for mid-range intermediates (Class B)
2000 is "good" for club players / semi-serious players (Class A)
2400 is "good" for tournament players / serious players (Expert)
2800 is "good" for titled players (Master)
But there are always exceptions, especially since players tend to have different strengths.
Some players are strong, but slow. Some players are weak, but fast. Some players dominate much of the game, but then have a habit of making fatal blunders. Some other players play sloppy much of the time, but are good at saving the game when it counts ...
It can be all over the map, so ratings don't always fit neatly into categories.
