Is this fide rating ?
what is a good chess rating?

a) SC2 campaign language would be :
1) 0 à 1000 = casual
2) 1000 à 1500 = normal
3) 1500 à 2000 = hard
4) 2000 à 2500 = brutal
b) Basic language of video game players would be :
1) 0 à 2000 = noob
2) +2000 = gosu
Forget the numbers you see on here. They're ridiculously inflated and meaningless in the wider world. Instead, focus on what YOU want out of chess. Do you want to be good enough to beat your family/friends? To compete in your chess club? Or just to understand how to play and nothing more?

If you are 12 years old I advise you to do sports activities, to be good enough at school and then work on your studies in relation with a professional project.
Chess is just a game for fun and I think that as for everyone else it is always possible to become gosu (it should be in game cadence long fide ranking in the range +2000 to -2300).
Master, grandmaster as I said it is not just a gosu (someone who has no more technical deficiencies or who is technically strong enough) there is a notion of performance, mental strength, physical energy, quality of competitor etc. I think

alchessblitz I agree life needs more focus on more important things - however chess is like a drug, addictive - especially if you're good. 12 over 1800 is impressive.

if you've played competitive chess and have pre-conceived beliefs on what you should be based on hard work and abilities of others you put a particular rating in your head that is good - a target to work towards. If you never get there this is what you consider a good rating - anything below is insufficient, and if you're way below that then its just annoying, and a bad loss to a lower rated opponent then it can be heart breaking!

do u think that i can become of master strength in a few years
Outstanding young fella.
Yes you can become a master, but as the above blokes said have some other hobbies as well aside from chess. Work on social skills (understanding others), do some sport and push your academics.
If you are rating 1800 at age 12 you have the smarts to do a lot more than just chess.

Well this question is really subjective but in my opinion it depends on what player pool you're comparing yourself to. A 1000 rated player is a vastly better player than most of the population, but he isn't very good at all compared to the average tournament player. I'd say if you consider yourself a serious tournament player, 1600 rapid rating would be around average and 2000+ rapid is quite good. 2200+ rapid or 2100+ blitz is excellent.

Jerrycai if you are that good already at your young age you will be an excellent player in a few years. Just make sure you balance chess with the rest of your life like others said

Personally, Everybody can get better. Once they reach their aim (like for me, it was 1700) they make another aim. A GOOD chess rating is differs for all. One who is optimistic will say his rating, even if he is a 100, is good. One who is a Pessimistic will feel his rating his rating will never be enough. If you are in between these 2 types of people, then see this chart.
0 - Ok, I'm sorry, but this is just too bad. NOOB.
100 - Getting better, but still not there.
200 - 500 - still not there.
600 - 1000 - Hmmm. Nah.
1000 - 1200- You are a good chess player, you average around the rating people stop on chess.com.
1300 - 1500 - You can work hard and play professionally.
1600 - 2000 - I think this would be enough.
2000 - 2200 - Nice!
2200 - 2500 - OG MODE
2500 - 3000 - Are you a GM?
3000 - 3500 - World Champion. You're magnus, aren't you?
A good chess rating is 99. A bad chess rating is 3074. Be smart.
