I remember one version of Chessmaster some years back with a bunch of lessons and tactical problems to solve. That one was great for getting the basics down.
These days Fritz has some decent training drills, so grabbing a copy that's a few versions old for cheap and using it for its "spot all the undefended pieces" and similar drills can be pretty great.
The recent overhaul of the chess.com lessons to the video + interactive format is pretty nice, although I don't know how much more content they're going to add to that in the near future. Hopefully lots, because it's definitely an upgrade from Chess Mentor.
Hello. I’m an intermediate player and just wanted some opinions on the best way to get better. Chess program like chess master or chess.com membership? Thanks
