Why do people assume 1500-1700 is good? I am 2000 and I have only been playing chess for 2 years
This means anyone playing above 5 years can easily get 2000-2200
But I am only 2k on rapid

Because 99% of all the players are not even close to 2000 after 2 years...they are at most 1700 and only if they play thousands of games and very few play that many games in 2 years.
2000 is doable after one year if you have some talent and if you study a few hours daily but almost no one do that.
98% of all the players that are here will never get to 1800.
Not everyone has the talent plus the time plus the passion plus the support etc ..
A 1600 in blitz in the top 4% here.
A 1800 in rapid in the top 1%.

The Chess.com community's average Blitz rating is roughly 1150.
Among online chess players, the average standard rating is usually around 1200.
Rapid Chess players on an online platform have an average rating of about 1100.
A pro on chess.com should be above 2200. Above 2000 you are a decent player, it depends what kind of player you are, for players like me are noob 2000s. But if you play more dynamically and actively then you may be as strong as a 2300 or 2400. Anyone below 2000 pretty much need some work to get themselves above 2000. I also have to mention that not every player who crosses the 2200 line is going to be as strong as other 2200s. IT all depends what kind of player you are. Even some 1700 can be stronger than 2000s.
Most players above 1800 are really solid player in 10 min game at least.
They would beat easily 95% of all the players on this site.
What is a pro player for you? 2000 Fide?
