Are aliens making you say this? Because alien abduction and forced comments may be your only excuse for neglecting the fact that corruption is not "in check" anywhere on earth

Useless post. The fact that there will always be degrees of corruption does not invalidate the need to keep it at a minimum. Nor does keeping something in check mean you are cancelling it out completely.

Your post says that T.V. keeps corruption in check! How is that a useful post?Laughing

Without the t.v., there would be no way for people to get a direct image of political figures.

I don't think you can trust indirect information more.

You actually implied that TV somehow fights corruption. Absurd. But as far as getting a "direct image of political figures", who knows what use that is, it's all staged anyway, pictures suffice.

On another note, alien abduction is nothing to sneer aboutLaughing

If you are into alien abduction, you should watch 'the fourth kind'. It becomes better if you allow yourself to get immersed a bit (so no daylight, talkative movie watchers etc..)

I don't think pictures suffice. It is much easier to detect a lie onscreen than when it is written or photographed. At least that helps filter out the bad actors..

Forgive me but, "The Fourth Kind" was just dumb. I think the best way to immerse oneself in the "alien abduction" strangeness, is by watching the lectures of John E. Mack. He was a professor of psychology at Harvard, who received a pulitzer prize for his biography of T.E. Lawrence. His stuff was waaaaay creepier than that silly '4th kind' thing. If you video google Mack on alien abductions, it's...well...it's...who knows what the hell it is!?Laughing

But as for the second part of what you said. ALL the politicians, and biz execs are a bunch of awful actors. You must not have a State-run media like here in the U.S.

Yeah but then single-payer healthcare consistently polls with majority support, and where does that lead?  Why should anyone think if the game is already rigged to one of a few predetermined outcomes?

16-1, 16-1, 16-1...

Anyway, the point isn't how many people are in favour of one or the other.  It's not even an issue of what would be most beneficial (we'll get booted off for that argument, I'm sure Tongue out)  The point is that it has polled significant support in a number of different contexts, and yet as the healthcare reform debate starts it is immediately 'off the table.'  It's the immediate dismissal that most reflects the lack of representation.

he really has to get a body first methinks if he wants to be a model :P
