What Is Percentile ? what it means ? how its calculated ?

Hello , Im not new to chess.com

Recently i came back to play chess as novice just to get my brain running ,

on the Stats I see percentile 90% or so

what that means , can anybody that knows what it means explain for the good for all of us ?

I don't see it, where is it? I see "Timeouts 0% (last 90 days)", is that what you mean?

There are percentiles for daily rating points, other game times rating pts, and for tournament points from 1st, 2nd 3rds. Probably for puzzle rush, tactics, and lessons also but I don't do those. So for daily it's your rating compared to all others on site. Not sure if based only on current active daily players or includes closed account old data.

If you're in the 90th percentile, that would mean that your Rating is better than that of 90% of Players on this Site. Percentiles are calculated by integrating the Bell-Curve function from 0 to the value you want to calculate it for. (just to add to what daKurf said)
