The three major replies to 1.c4 are e5, c5 and Nf6. Then you could also play f5, e6, c6 or g6. A lot of these (aside from e5 and c5) have tons of transpositional possibilities, so you have a bit to work on.
You can try to play whatever you play against 1. d4. So if You play the Slav against 1. d4, you would play 1...c6 against 1. c4, although there are some independent lines against most defenses. You could also play 1...e5, especially if you play 1. e4 as White.
He is refering to 1.Nf3 (Reti).
my opponent played this after i open queens pawn game. After that my whole game just fell apart.
