what is the best opening?

There are a lot of future responders to this post that say, “There is no best opening”. They aren’t wrong, but here’s a list of my personal favorites.
1.) Queens Gambit.
Whether declined or accepted, the QG is classic. It opens opportunity for all kinds of games at various ELO ranges. It definitely withstands the test of time as one of the best openings.
2.) The Italian game.
A lot ( a LOT) of haters out there, (particularly high rated players [coincidence, idk?]), but the Italian game is simple and flexible, developing pieces early and allowing for both positional and tactical games. I don’t see a problem with it, despite its bad rap.
3.) The Open Sicilian
Despite some of the ostensible advantages for black in this opening, it allows chances for both sides, making way for some interesting games. There is quite a bit of opening theory around the Sicilian (open or not) in general, but the Open Sicilian, I believe, is one of the greatest openings of all time.
