I love using metal board and light pieces styles. It just gives them a clear, and simple appearance.

My pieces are light
Board is sky blue
Sound is newspaper
Background is cosmos

for me Modern pieces and Marble board
I’m currently using the translucent chessboard with metal pieces and the space sounds, it goes pretty well with my background which is a picture of GLaDOS.
I use this theme:
Pieces: Light
Board: 8-Bit
Sounds: Lolz
Background: Lolz
I like Wood pieces and wood board and the background - space

I think the Neo and Icy Sea pieces are the best. I usually use a light board with high contrast, like Brown or Green. 
i just use the tournament theme, it looks good.

Brown board and classic pieces it looks very nice and is a popular choice for chess grandmasters. I prefer to use it my self
I like to use the standard one after trying everything.
