What is the best way to learn?

I am completely new to the game I just know how the pieces move but don't understand the tactics what's the best way to learn?

Osmosis dude. Just put a chessbook to your forehead and it will eventually click.
tactics tactics tactics...so they say...I've also heard that chess is 1% preparation and 99% haha perspiration have fun...thats the most important...dont care too much about rating i also recommend staying away from blitz at this learning stage (i still suck at blitz and given my rating probably at correspondence as well) but improvement comes down to 2 things for you now I'll say...learn basic opening ideas like developing pieces towards the center and do lots of tactics puzzles Enjoy the beautiful game
