game analysis shows mistake and blunders separately.  Why?

The "Game Analysis" function is rather shallow, and you shouldn't put too much weight on its opinions.

Having said that, it classes the most serious mistakes (according to its limited analysis) as blunders.

Hi Anne,

Could you show your game with engine analisys? We will analize your game together and find out who is wrong, player or engine in specific situation.

SCID running Phalanx 1500 ELO on Tactics trainer defines a blunder as a loss of more than 0.9 pawns. My guess is the idea is that a blunder (or equivalently a lost pawn) typically means a guaranteed lost game, which is qualitatively different than a weak but drawable game, and also the sources of those mistakes are often different, such as tactical (larger loss of evaluation points) versus positional considerations (smaller loss of evaluation points).

A blunder to me is when I lost the game(checkmate).

A mistake is losing a bishop and a blunder is losing a queen,

losing any piece without compensation is considered blunders i think for engine standards
