i was just wondering. the longest chess game was 20 hours, so whats the longest of the average chess player. mine is 3 hours in a local club tournament. does anybody else have any long games, share here

3 almost 4 hours in a tournament with 1:30:00 +1min per move in a Franch national tournament in Paris

I had to sacrifice a couple pawns there in the end to clear a path for my rooks and struggle to a draw. Stockfish rates the final position +0.00 even though I was down two pawns. The power of the rooks on the seventh!
Actually though, it’s quite impressive how bad a 4 hour long game can be 😂
I played a few five-hour over-the-board tournament games, back when 40-in-2 was the most common time control for OTB chess.
