We already got the statistics. pawns are moved the most by far.

No. Unless of course, you are willing to say that the knight is more powerful than the bishop. By far. What do your own games reveal?

My games, or your games, or anyones games reveal that both bishops and knights outshine each other in different positions.
Plus, realistically they are both worth 3 points, so neither is really objectively better than the other. Only subjectively.
But again this has nothing to do with how often they get moved. Im sure by far in most of ur games ur total pawn moves outweigh ur total bishop or knight moves.

thats really kind of stupid as we all know that the bishop is slightly better than a knight cause its more useful and it has been proven by engines and machines over time that it is the better piece in lots of defined positions
Ah. So it doesn't depend? It doesn't depend on the player or position? The bishop is always better than the knight? It's been proven, and no circumstances allow for any situations where the knight could be better? I was not aware of that.
I'm sure computers find that in most games the bishop is better. But most games isn't all games. I'm also pretty sure most short games will have pawns as the most moved pieces. But in longer games, that seems pretty unlikely.

You are right, they do. I move my pawns more than my bishops or knights. But I move my rooks even more. It obviously depends on the player, the position, and the length of games. You had an interesting game recently where almost half the moves in the game were with the queen. Over twice as many queen moves as pawn moves.

Which game was that sorry? Just wanted to check
oh.
yeah, but if u check that game out, it was a blitz game with an abnormal opening. Most of my games im moving the pawns in total more than other pieces, and i think that would carry with other people as well.
The problem is this: no matter how much you shift the parameters here, pawns will still win.
Just your games, they will win. Just my games, they will win. My grandmaster games, they will win. Just kids games, they will win. Just bullet games, they will win. Just classic OTB, they will win. Just games played in the 1800s, they will win. Just games played in the 2000s they will win. Just <20 move games, they will win. Just >50 move games, they will win.
All you can change is how much they win by, which just isn't the question. That actually would have been a better question, IMO. In what type of games, would Pawns win this question by the least and in what type would they win by the most? That's a question that people could actually debate.

That's a good point. Length of game will probably make a big difference in which pieces gets moved most. Type of game might make a difference too. It would be interesting to compare long time control tournament games vs. very short time control rapid games.

No.
yeah.
It's very position dependent.
Like if ur in an endgame with very few pawns, or more pawns but they are fixed, with only a minor piece or two, ur only gonna be able to move the minor piece, so u'll just keep moving it nonstop over the place.
These are outliers tho, and they're rare. In most normal games, I'd say pawns are definitely moved the most. There's 8 of them, it takes like 6-7 moves for them to reach the other side of the board for each one, and they also dictate the position on the board heavily, so u interact with them a lot, to the point where ur probably forgetting how much ur using them.
Yes. That's why in short games it's highly likely pawns are the most moved piece. There are 8 of them, and they are in front. But even if every one is moved only one square at a time (including diagonally) the maximum number of moves any pawn can make is 6. (not 7). There probably doesn't even exist a game where pawns were moved 48 times. But there are lots of games where other pieces were moved 48 times.
Which is why I think length of game (and probably type of game) make a big difference. I've seen games where at the end the king (or other piece) get moved 10 or even 20 times in a row.

How many endgames have you seen where a Pawn is moved 5 times in a row? Thousands? In how many of those games, was that 5 times in a row by both White AND Black?
As this post marks me moving on from telling you that your whole approach to this question is fundamentally wrong (I had previously been trying hard to stick to this), to telling you ways in which you're even analysing your own incorrect versions of this question wrong, I think it's time for me step back. You won't understand. I know this. It'd be silly of me to put more effort into trying.

OK. I've seen MANY games, probably hundreds, where pawns were moved 5 times in a row. But I don't think I've ever seen one where they were moved 20 times in a row. But I've seen quite a few where other pieces (rook or king) were moved 20 times in a row. The point is, in the beginning of the game, moving the king or rook many times in a row (or alot) never happens. Pawns get moved a lot in the beginning of the game. But as the game moves on, pawns get moved less, and other pieces get moved more. So the most moved pieces are really going to depend on the player, position, and length of game.
Just like the knight/bishop question. There is no one size fits all answer.
How are you still going on about this after the answer has literally been posted? I didn't even deem this a question worth answering even before the answer was stated. It was always just so obviously Pawn lol. Like, it's not even a conversation. How can you possibly still not know the answer, even now?
Because it's not a definite answer. It depends. It's like asking which is more powerful, the bishop or knight. Look at your own games. Which piece do you move the most? And of your games, which is more powerful, the bishop or knight?
The fact remains the pawn is the ONLY piece that has a limited number of moves (not counting the 50 and 75 move rule of course). The rules of the game limit how many times a pawn can be moved. No such rule exists for any other piece. So there are going to be MANY games (short games usually) where the pawn is the most moved piece. But there are also going to be MANY games where all the pawns are traded (or don't get moved) where another piece is the most moved piece. Just like the knight/bishop question, there is no one size fits all answer.
