What is the point of premove if you can't move that fast in proper chess?

Yes my opponents often use premove when I don't. I would say you don't need premove in games over 30 seconds.

why don't you use premove?

it's unfair

you're not telling me how it's unfair.

sndeww

and by not using premoves, you're making it unfair. If both parties use premoves how is it not fair?

disagree. 3min and 5min require premoves.

only if you are neck and neck in time when both you and your opponent have under 1 min

I mean, when I play blitz I premove in the opening. That way I have more time to think in the middlegame and endgame.

and also white in hyperbullet always wins on time. Chess.com has an annoying thing when it doesn't have the board facing you

Even if premoving is disabled, there's nothing stopping me from hovering the piece over the other square and dropping it right as my opponent plays. That takes at most 0.3 seconds

again, hyperbullet is part of online chess. without premoves hyperbullet would not be possible.

and no, white does not always win on time. even in 10sec black has plenty of chances.

I do agree with you but the thing is on premove in only takes 0.1 secs

if all premoves take 0.1 seconds does that not make it more fair?

sndeww

2x+2 = 4

4x+4 = 8

they are the same equation.

if you're playing otb blitz chess, then you're moving as fast as you can.

But no you don't need to move fast unless you find yourself in zeitnot.

In Blitz OTB, I typically move my hand slowly (while my decision is fast), in order to induce a false game tempo to my opponent, who will, more than often, began thinking like it was a slow game, all suggested by my body language.

They'll then often "wake up" in cruel zeitnot...

Online Chess experience is misleading for so many things.

Thank you....

It also can be a disadvantage because your move could be a blunder, and once you premove, there is no turning back
