I can't believe all the fuss. I almost always type "gg" after a game. I intend only to show respect to my opponent just like so many of us are taught to while we were children.

I was taught that offhand, unthinking pseudo-praise was more insulting than respectful. My suspicion would be that anyone who couldn't muster up the keystrokes to spell out the entire, arduous, eight-letter phrase was probably guilty of exactly this kind of sham respect.

A while back, I read a forum of someone complaining of the rudeness of people who don't say gg, or gg2. I figured they didn't know what 'gg' means. So recently, after a game, i'd say 'gg' then wait for a reply. If there'nt any i'd say 'gg=GoodGame'. It seems to be working because atleast 3 people said gg today.
