What is wrong with the World Championship

Top level chess, but particularly the WC,it seems to me,has lost it's essence.I find myself in total sympathy with GM Bobby Fischer's expressed frustration. It is surely meant to be a one-on-one challenge-you can learn from others, human or engine, but when playing it should be ON YOUR OWN.No advice,or seconds-I say lock them away, incommunicado and play the match to certain number of wins,or whoever's ahead after so many games, then sudden-death if tied and CLASSICAL TIME CONTROLS-it is NOT meant to be a miniature version of the Rapid or Blitz to settle the World Chess Champion.Let's have some respect for the history. At least down amongst the"patzers" it's more genuine.

"No advice,or seconds-I say lock them away" You want to put the players in jail for their World Championship Match?

"play the match to certain number of wins" This does not work: we have seen that in Karpov-Korchnoi and Karpov-Kasparov matches. Nowadays wins are even rarer.

"sudden-death if tied and CLASSICAL TIME CONTROLS" Sudden death games in classical time control are likely to end in all draws.

I think it would be better to have them stay somewhere-(eg.,a hotel)-own room,no advisors-just in-house comms & the match room and instead of going straight to Rapid, after a certain number of games if tied, gradually reduce the time control to force the issue.

Shorter time control is logical. With respect for the history: Lasker-Capablanca was played at a pace of 15 moves per hour. Fischer-Spassky was played at 40 moves in 2.5 hours. Carlsen-Nepo will play 120 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 60 minutes for the next 20 moves and then 15 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 61. With increased knowledge of openings and endgames it is only logical to speed up. Maybe a time control of 90|30 would be better.
