If you are hanging a piece during any point in the game, you are not playing a great game.
I've played against national masters before, there is one that is ok with playing me regularly, and what scares me about him isn't his opening knowlodge, or positional skill, or tactics, or endgame skills, no its his consistancy. It's the fact that he can just sit there making dozens of threats, fending off all of mine, and I will just crack like an egg.
That, in my opinion, is what a strong player is all about. That relentless pressure.
Kind of an oxymoronic title, yes, but I was just remembering an great game I played that I blundered badly in...
