What is your most favorite saying about Chess?  Tongue out

"Not all artists may be chess players, but all chess players are artists."
- Marcel Duchamp

"Life is a kind of chess, with struggle, competition, good and ill events."
- Benjamin Franklin

"Chess, like love, like music, has the power to make men happy. "
- Tarrasch

"I love all positions. Give me a difficult positional game, I will play it. Give me a bad position, I will defend it. Openings, endgames, complicated positions, dull draws, I love them and I will do my very best. But totally won positions, I cannot stand them."
- Donner

Here's my own saying....

"For me Chess is the expression or the projection of my personality in to a small board. I pour all my anger, passion, joy , sorrow , hopes and fears in to it."

Like it?

"At this point it has become a chess match"

Pretty much by most anouncers. I like how in sports such as Football (american) and MMA when they go to the ground looking for submissions. Or in any other sport where it becomes all about stratagy it will always be refered to a Chess Match. As if Chess is the pinical of Stratigic Game Play. :)

Inexplicable

George Bernard Shaw said: "Chess is a foolish expedient for making idle people believe they are doing something very clever when they are only wasting their time."

Of course, GBS sucked at chess. At the age of twenty-one, after going down to two Scholar's Mates in a row, he burst into tears, scattered the chessmen across the room, and never again pushed a pawn in anger.

Most people on chess.com show a higher level of maturity after getting humiliated at the chessboard. I know I do.
