Titled players often sign an exclusivity contract not to play under their name at other sites.

What would be your asking price to play chess on only one site?

ProfessorPownall

1 year of play exclusively at a given site (assuming of course you were a famous player), would you sign a contract and give up your freedom of choice?

ProfessorPownall

The top players sign exclusivity contracts. You will not see Nakamura playing anywhere else under his real name. He receives a well earned fee to endorse this site, Nothing irregular about it. My question asks: What is your price?

ProfessorPownall

I am in no way implying all titled players agree to such a contract. But certainly those that command advertising revenue are offered deals.

The first person to mention a number during a negotiation puts himself at a disadvantage.  HOW MUCH ARE YOU GONNA PAY ME?

varelse1

8 thousand per year, for the rest of my life. I would do it.

Morals prevent me from endorsing this site.  Another site's price will depend upon how much their morals align with mine.

Morals are the first thing on the auction block.
