I, like 99% of the human species have many. A weakness in chess (many too) is unimportant.

None. I am pretty bad all around.

All too human.

Openings. Without a doubt, not even close. Almost all my study went into middlegames/endgames. Just now am I seriously trying to learn some openings. But honestly, I'm lazy in my dedication and consistency. So there's another big weakness.

Because you starting out studying middle/endgames, is i am sure one of the main reasons you have such a good rating. The first book I learned from, didnt even look at the openings until about two thirds into the the book.

I have been playing for over 45 years, and my weakness is I forget. There is no point me spending too much time studying varous opening lines as I cannot remember them two weeks later. Same with endgame strategy. Always been like that. That is the reason I will never progress much beyond my current rating.

Does not stop me enjoying chess enormously though. So whatever your weakness is, acknowlege it, and play accordingly. If you can admit to yourself you will never be a master, but still play (and enjoy) a game of chess every day for the rest of your life, you have achieved something very special.
