Quién es este patzero?

Patzer should be used to describe a large rating gap, around 500 pts, I would say. So a 1000 rated player is a patzer to a 1500 rated player, and a 2000 rated player is a patzer to a GM

Patzer = Fish!

To me, there's an abrupt increase on chess.com in overall understanding of chess as you get around 1700-1800 daily-rated. Around that level you see better maneuvering in closed positions, better understanding of how to use a Knight, how to use a Passed Pawn, how to plan, etc.

From comments I've seen, I think a higher Rapid, Blitz, or Bullet rating is needed to reach the same plateau.

Thank you @UtrechtRose for the help! And not being too demeaning. Also bb_gum I appreciate the assessments! Sometime you should challenge me in a non rated and correct some of my mistakes. Thanks guys!

You mean Panzer?

Chess players are really weird. Only for them "Patzer" (That does not really even have a meaning) or "Fish" can be very offensive.

Pashak1989

And the meaning is "You suck at chess", that's all.

It is not that Patzer means "2Q1C" or something really offensive like that.

I consider a patzer anyone rated lower than the entry rating of 1200 on this site. These people reguarly miss free peices, and checkmate in one. In my opinion a patzer is anyone who reguarly misses one move tactics. A patzer is also someone who usually plays blitz and bullet for fun, and is not intending to improve his/her game.

Anyone you've managed to beat at least once can be referred to as a Patzer.

VasilijeVladacki

In our language it is this sentence. When patzer saw check every time he gives it, because he thinks that he mates opponent, and really patzer gives a check makes exchanges almost automatically, plays without  plans...

Everyone's definition of "patzer" seems to be subjective. I opt for a more objective definition. If someone is an expert at something they are good at it. Therefore anyone with a USFC rating of 2000 (expert) or more is a good chess player and not a patzer. By the way... I am a patzer

Everybody around me also thinks I am a chess beast, but I feel that I am 200 pts. Overrated.

I don’t get it; I am 1480 OTB, but 1135 on this site.
