I am learning to play chess, this februari. Somebody called me a stupid cow. And it is really difficult. I am a 56 year old woman and i like the puzzle and lessons. Thanks for the support

If that was on the site you should 100% report the person. And turn off in-game chat in the settings, it's much less distracting. Good luck with the chess! 
The correct answer is we don't know but people are still quick to offer all kinds of speculation without any evidence to back their claims

I expect it's at least 90% cultural rather than biological... and possibly 100% cultural.
Men and women play different traditional roles in society, and I expect this explains a lot of it.

Do you have any education on the intelligence differences as well as physical differences between men and women? The differences are not simply sex organs.

Not only in chess game, but in general life too males face much tougher challenges and hence they qualify to play chess also as tough players !

The top players probably never did that, as kids. They were too busy studying chess.

Men are traditionally bigger, and that includes the brain. Bigger brain = more neurons = more calculations = better chess. They are generally brought up to be more competitive than females too.
The male brain is better at calculating and spatial thinking. Probably helps when playing chess.

damn the amount of people who are just plain wrong on this forum is incredible, I havnt done a great deal of research about this but one time at my local chess club an old guy said that “men are just smarter than women” another old guy, who is a neurologist and psychologist, said that he was just plain wrong. Men are not inherently smarter than women.
Yes, men are NOT simply smarter than women. However, the male brain is better at spatial thinking, reasoning, and calculating. Women are better with emotions, sensing other people’s feelings, and things like that. Also, there is no need to curse. It isn’t that serious.

I could argue you to be wrong, seeing as the top jigsaw puzzle players are all women
Guy brains and girl bains are different. There are even physical differences.
Science has demonstrated that although mean make and female IQ are the same, male standard deviation is greater. This means you will find more men at both ends of the intelligence spectrum.
