What makes this a good move?

I came across this puzzle on another website.  I had to choose the best move for Black.  In my wildest dreams I would never have expected this move to be the best one.  All I can see is a lost queen.  Can someone explain this puzzle to me?

To understand the move you have to do two things.

1) Find what black is threatening.

2) Find a good move for white that meets these threats.

It seems like the only thing you're thinking is "oh no, black will lose the queen!" but you haven't even checked to see what black is threatening first.

Here's a hint, after Qe2 black is threatening checkmate in two different ways.  Can white stop both of them?

Certainly a very flashy finish for black to throw his queen in front of a rook like that!  Neat puzzle.
