If drawn after 12 games then a 4 game rapid match attempts to break the tie.
If there is still no victor 2 game blitz matches follow.
After 5 such 2 game matches if it is still a tie then some kinda one game type of game occurs.

Pretty shameful if it comes to that... the championship being decided by speed chess to make sponsors happy.
Here's an idea I just thought of... although sponsors will hate this too. In the event the 12 classical games result in 6-6 then the championship is postponed, and a double round robin tournament with a few of the top 10 players (and the two WCC players) is held, and the winner is the new WCC.
Maybe you could say it's the player's fault for wanting money then? What I meant was money trumps a more robust format like an indefinite length (first to X wins). It doesn't take millions of dollars and a nice venue to find out who is better at chess. You and your opponent could do it for free on the street.
They should make the world championship at least 18 games long so that players will take more chances. I don't like the title being decided by rapid or blitz. We already have world blitz and rapid championship.
The first four (4) tie-break games shall be played with 25 minutes for each player with an increment of 10 seconds after each move.
If the scores are level after the rapid games, then, after a new drawing of colors, a match of 2 games shall be played with a time control of 5 minutes plus 3 seconds increment after each move. In case of a level score, another 2-game match will be played to determine a winner. If still there is no winner after 5 such matches (total 10 games), one sudden-death game will be played .
If the score is still level after the blitz tiebreaks, the players shall play one sudden death game. The player who wins the drawing of lots may choose the color. The player with the white pieces shall receive 5 minutes, the player with the black pieces shall receive 4 minutes. After the 60th move, both players shall receive an increment of 3 seconds starting from move 61. In case of a draw the player with the black pieces is declared the winner.
I think in the event of a tie, the reigning WC should keep the title, since the challenger clearly didn't prove themselves superior.
