What should Agon do about the parasites?

What is the best approach for Agon in taking on the parasite organizations which try to gain commercial value from the broadcasts at no cost?

Provide a better product. If they want people to watch their broadcast they should have the best one!

chess24, chessbomb.com etc.

Basically everyone AGON is sueing because these websites broadcasted the moves without authorisation.

Source? Not trying to be a smartass, I honestly want to know, as I've not seen anything saying that.

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer, don't take this as legal advice.

I cannot see how Agon can have ANY chance to sue for it when it should be easy to construct a situation to legally share the moves.

1) have a relative, for example your brother, log in with facebook and let him agree not to share the moves publically.

2) watch the game with your brother, and comment on the moves online to your hearts content.

You never agreed to anything, and your brother never agreed to actively stop you from doing that. All should be fine.

Meh. I don't see where they really have a legal leg to stand on. Information cannot be copyrighted and there are no laws to restrict the open dissemination of information.

My guess is that AGON knows full and well that they don't have a legal leg to stand on here, but they're still trying to use their team of lawyers to bully other site in order to create a virtual monopoly for themselves.

I see what you are saying but on the other hand. AGON paid for the broadcasting rights, the other sites profit from AGON without paying a dime, that's also morally wrong.

For me both sides are in the wrong.

And they're getting the broadcasting rights. No one else is airing the broadcast of the event. They are simply relaying the information. This is how it's been done with any sport since broadcasting of sporting events began.
