Get all your pieces on active squares as quickly as possible (knights and bishops first, queen usually feels best on e2/d2/c2, rooks want open lines but otherwise they're fine on the first rank), castle short so your king is safe, control the center with one or two pawns, try to prevent your opponent from doing any of these.

Even right from the opening you should be playing with a plan of development. Simply try to get your pieces out as quickly as possible on squares where they can take part in the battle for the 4 central squares. Only pawn moves which are necessary in contributing to your development and/or battle for the centre should be made, Castle early, and don't move any piece twice. Also try to stifle your opponent's development whenever possible. Of course any of these guidelines can be broken if you spot a strong tactic or other reason to do so (even in the opening you should be watching like a hawk for tactics)..

What do you mean "American" and "rusi"? Undecided As for the French, it's certainly not a good idea to be learning that one as a beginner. Unless you mean how to play against it..

Tricklev

Rusi is probably the petroff defence.

But other than that, no, a beginner doesn't need to learn either French or Rusi, and he especially should not study the american, for obvious reasons.

Thank you guys for ur post !

Can .. Any one tell me what is silican defence ? Or how can i learn all its theorys ?

I want to learn ! How can i do that ?

Scarblac

We've just given you the basics of opening strategy. Development, the center, et cetera. The simple version. Because you need to learn that first.

Therefore, I suggest you play 1.e4 e5 as Black, not the Sicilian. Because in the Sicilian, you'll have to be able to find many moves that are the complete opposite of those principles, for obscure reasons. That's better left for later.

First learn the basics.

Oh ! ok!

well you want to have a plan ... perhaps to attack any pieces that are vulnerable or to simply to develop the pieces and ultimately to beat your opponent by checkmate or resignation ....
