What should I study to reach 1500 OTB?

I have been playing in rated tournaments for a year now, and so far I am a 1300 USCF player.  I am very determined to reach 1500 in 6 months from now.  Which chess topics should I be focusing on the most, and what is a reasonable amount of time I should dedicate per week?

TheGreatOogieBoogie

A month of tactics, a month of basic endgames, and a month of positional imbalances.  Just focus your study one at a time so you could train a new skill more effectively.  Tactics are good, but you have to know the full scope of how they can benefit you.  Can't sacrifice a pawn for a strong initiative or rook for knight if you aren't familiar with the positional compensation they bring.  Activity compensates weaknesses so some structural deficit isn't always the end of the world.

Tactics up the Wazzoo, and Basic endgames, thatway you don't make the stupid mistake of stalemating up a queen or a rook and a minor or something stupid like that

1.Understand the middle game strategy and do tactics .

2.concentrate on those parts you are weak. Analyze ur game( not blitz or bullet).

3.Study the Standard opening like ruy lupez, silician dragon, petrof defence.

4.don't play or study too much per day otherwise u feel bored. take a rest one day in week(must).

5.Is it possible for u to buy daniel kings chessbase videos or otherwise download it from torrent site.

6. read books (Jeremy Silman - How to Reassess Your Chess, Jeremy Silman - The Reassess Your Chess)

7.Don't leave chess playing for more than 2 weeks. atleast play 1 blitz game or do 3 tactics within one week.

No, don't do that. That is stealing.

that sounds like a good plan, maybe avoid some of the deeper openings, though in this day and age every opening is deep. Deep openings include, Spanish Game, Dragon Sicilian (I made an exception to this one as it is part of my repetoir), most QGD's, Petrof can be deep in some lines, other than that, Italian game is good, I like the KG, KID can be fun, Dutch is tactical for a d4 opening, and well as long as it gets to tactic quickly youll be fine
